Perhaps its most important benefit is it's ability to reduce tension and stress. When teaching Yoga you can choose a specialty to target a certain market. You must make sure that you have mastered your own positioning and alignment in the various poses.
Whether you choose to use it as your primary means of strength training or you want it to supplement your other exercises, yoga can help your muscles grow fit, balanced, and strong. It is more important to honor your body than to try to do a pose perfectly. Talk to your students as if they were guests in your living room.
If you begin to feel more spiritual it's probably because you are more in tune with your body and life than you were before you started doing yoga. Baby steps everyone .
